Old Friend We Never Got to Know - Hungover Merlion

Meet 谎言 huang yen（literal translation 'A Lie'), a cute little Merlion soft toy that has has recently resurfaced in our household.

Huang yen looks a little dishevelled and hungover in this picture, after a night of partying and puking.

The Singapore Merlion was actually a marketing tool conceived by Mr Fraser Brunner for the logo of the Singapore Tourism Board several decades ago to.. sell some souvenirs (I guess Singapore really lacks  identifiable natural geographical icons). It has a lion's head and mermaid/fish's body and the most famous Merlion at the Merlion Park near One Fullerton, much loved by Japanese tourists,  pukes  sprouts water from its mouth.

Booze the Moose's Nightmare

Now, the citizens of stuffed toy land are usually apathetic with regards to politics, even more so with foreign politics. But the recent hooha with the financial meltdown and US presidential elections have prompted the toys to read up a bit more on world issues. To Booze the Moose's horror, the Republicans actually made 'moose-hunting' sound like a cool hobby for the VP candidate. Hunting, as a sport, is SO wrong!

Summer Time

The relentless heat is becoming unbearable, particularly for the clothed stuffed toys; most of them hide out in air-conditioned rooms these days, and were mostly engaged in non-strenuous recreational activities.



Keyao Pig takes a well-deserved bath after weeks of complaining that he smelt of stale hair.

Meanwhile, Michi has become a host for ToyVoyagers Dio & Benni. Dio is from Netherlands and Benni is a German bear who just came over from New Zealand. Highlights of their time here.

The net savvy toys have noticed a cute sheep named Shaun who's sharing his lifestyle pictures on flickr. :)

Joyous Gathering

Gingy & Gui Zai went over to Michi's Hse of Evil for some initiation before they venture into the wild wild world (before they left for Dundee). Cheese was there as well for an extreme makeover session (skin renewing spa therapy to wash off her London filth >_<).

New Home

Wuji and gang move to a new home. We had to leave behind a few of our plus-sized friends due to space constraints at our new living quarters.

Having Some'Body'

The Qoo Pillows have an inferiority complex due to their lack of bodies (with sizeable brains to boot). As documented here, Qoo have a penchant for Keyao Pig's lard body, and caught Keyao unaware again just now.

World Cup Germany Vs Sweden

Snowmi, otherwise known as 'Schnomi' during the 2006 FIFA World Cup, enjoys a feisty performance by his home country Germany against Sweden the night before. Incidentally, Snowmi's manufacturer is responsible for the official products of World Cup Mascot, Goleo.
